The shadow falls over
The golden fields of summer
As the darkness grows
A winter chill descends on
City streets and country
Like the cold ice and snow
The end of everything is gone
From dusk to dawn these
Are dark lonely days
A sickness in the air
Brings on the wind of malady
The stricken cry
Infected locked away from
Lovers, friends, and family
All alone to die
The end of everything we had
The good and bad will
Sadly slip away, now are gone
Will the world return again
To what we had then
There’s no one to say
Stay away, you can’t come out to play
Keep away, or you may die today
The plague upon us comes without a trace
There is no rescue from its cold embrace
Down at the morgue, they have run out of space
Is this the end of the human race
Doctors and presidents who do you trust
While you were sleeping, a thousand lives lost
The world is under a blanket of dust
Turning into rust
The end of everything we had
The good and bad will
Sadly slip away, now are gone
Will the world return again
To what we had then
There’s no one to say
Sadly, slip away
Sadly, slip away
