Dead I wander this earth
Like a tree with dysfunctional roots
The soul starves, the mind suffers
Agony for pleasure, illusions must remove

Visions of my journeys in darkness
Have led me to this ancient gateway
Corpses sleeping in the ground
Ravens the keepers of their dreams

The apparitions in darkness
Continue their seductive dance
They remind me of time that once passed
As to the skies I shed a glance

Mysterious are your dark ways
Untrodden the paths of astral delights
But the soul cries in agony
It mourns the loss of spectral kin

Can you hear the cry of your children
Do you see the tears in their pale eyes
Tears from the wounds of the earth

Rejoined shall we be again
As for secular glory I do not seek
Through eternal power in sin
For too strong are these deeds

And indeed I strive
To become not only His image
But also the spirit, force and the flame
Impossible to be put out

I leap into the damp pit
Once again to enter the astral sleep
