Morning again, soothing Sun
Welcoming and warm, with undertones of dread
An ill fated hour where words are filled with grieving joy
And hope dissolves with each kept moment

A light that comes from nowhere
From dreams which I could not awaken
A stillness neither beautiful nor comforting
Falling back into the womb of the earth
The night’s slow innocence takes it's toll on me
The cruelty of time which I'm supposed to understand
Leaving only a shell behind

A rain washed wind swept summer breeze
Hazy sunsets bleeding nature’s voices
Echoing empty in the morning mists
Temptation longing beneath gray faces
Dancing serpents, rising from their sleep
No ordinary miracles shaping the hours
Or stifling the still growing quietude
